Post Detainee Annual Conference

July 14, 2022

Every year (when public health emergencies allow!) Samphire hosts an event to bring together campaigners, survivors and organisations working to end Immigration Detention.

We share good practice, have workshops, promote and amplify campaigns, share information about services and entitlements, and raise and celebrate the valuable voices of Expert by Experience activists. Presentations and workshops will be delivered by Migrants Organise, Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI), Doctors of the World National Health Advisors, Shazea Quraishi, Poet & English PEN Trustee, Mind, Migrant Voice and more….

FREE lunch, workshops and presentations from migrant and POC led projects, and the chance to meet and reconnect after the pandemic, be inspired by others and plan for future fights.

Full details of contributors and agenda here and below with poster to share with your networks!

If you have lived experience of immigration detention we may be able to support your attendance by reimbursing/funding your travel and stay in London.

As a result of the global pandemic attendance numbers, capacity and therefore for who and which organisations we prioritise tickets is under constant review. For more information or to register your interest please email Ex-Detainee@SamphireProject.org.uk with your name, and access needs and if you are someone with lived experience and/or work with an NGO or community project.

If you work for an NGO, law centre or statutory service that would like to distribute materials on the day please get in touch Ex-Detainee@SamphireProject.org.uk
