Samphire’s Legal Project

Samphire’s Legal Project

In May 2019 Samphire launched its new Legal Project. The project is delivered in cooperation with Dover and Deal District Citizens Advice Bureau and since its inception has been connecting with a number with local and regional organisations and statutory institutions such as Red Zebra’s project Roma in the Lead, Kent County Council, South East Strategic Partnership for Migration, Dover JobCentre Plus, etc.

Prior to the pandemic, Samphire’s Immigration advisor was holding regular advice surgeries at Samphire’s office and at Dover & Deal CAB. Due to Covid-19 regular surgeries have been suspended, however appointments can be made on ad-hoc basis and the advisor is still assisting people remotely.

People can get advice on immigration matters falling under OISC Levels 1& 2 ( Please note, we cannot assist in immigration appeals).

We have consulted locally and have found a lack of knowledge and uncertainty with regards to post-Brexit immigration requirements, EU Settlement Scheme and possibilities to naturalise or register as a British Citizen.  Our OISC registered adviser is a European national herself and is therefore well placed to provide information and reassurance to people living locally.
