PROJECTS

Roma Inclusion Project

Samphire has worked with Dover’s Roma community many years, and in particularly more recently in partnership with the Roma in the Lead project at the Community Hub in Folkestone Road. Today, as Roma in the Lead comes to an end, Samphire has embraced the good work achieved here and is now continuing this work in Dover. With Iveta Janova as Samphire’s new Inclusion Development Officer, we aim to build existing and new partnerships, creating positive relationships between Roma and local services, providing information and advice, legal immigration support, and regular activities with a healthy lifestyle focus.

There will also be several local events which celebrate Roma culture including performances at Samphire’s Dover Together Festival.

Key partners include Dover Big Local, Kent Fire & Rescue as well as the local town and district councils. We are active member of KRIG and South East Migration Partnership Group.

Project Hours

Iveta will be based at Dover Big Local (18 Charlton Centre, 2PS, High St, Dover)  every Monday between 9am – 2pm

On other days Iveta will work from the new Community Cohesion Café at the Charlton Centre and Samphire offices.
